By Sean O’Connell Hollywoodnews.com: A lot has been written over the past week about “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” suffering a soft opening in the States, posting only $90.1 million in its debut frame to fall short of its predecessors. Turns out producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney are laughing all the way to the bank. The fourth installment in the “Pirates” franchise is doing extremely well on the international charts, earning $400 million worldwide in less than a week, according to THR. The trade calls Rob Marshall’s installment “the fastest moving motion picture this year” in terms of box office, noting that the sequel “has done especially well in territories including China and Russia.” “Pirates” hasn’t passed “Fast Five” as the top earner for 2011 … yet.
